LOS ANGELES, March 16 (AP) — Kobe Bryant had enough after seven straight losses by the Los Angeles Lakers. He took matters into his own hands against the Portland Trail Blazers and left the court with the fourth highest-scoring game in franchise history.

Bryant scored 24 of his 65 points in the fourth quarter and added nine more in overtime, powering the Lakers to a 116-111 victory on Friday night.

Last season’s scoring champ shot 23-for-39 from the field, 8-for-12 from 3-point range and 11-for-12 from the free-throw line.

Most of you know that I can be highly critical of Kobe but he is an incredible player. If he could just stick to playing the game and stop trying to influence the refs I would have more respect for him. However he can take over a game and carry his team to victory but the question is can he score 65 points ever game? I would feel sorry for the Lakers and their fans except for all the trophies they have already earned.

Congrates to Kobe for a great game but…

At 50 points his team was still down. Against who? The Trailblazers??? Against Rookie Brandon Roy. The Blazers still could have won, had Roy not jacked-up a Kobe-like 21 shots, for a mere 14 pts.

The Blazers rely on 2 starters that are rookies. Zach Randolph is the veteran?

The Blazers could have won this game easily in regulation.

Okay, so 4 games in a row is very impressive.

Good job Kobe.

I stand corrected.
