I can appreciate that fans love their teams.

The Spurs have been the best team in the past 10 years period.

1999 was a strike year, SO WHAT?

Did the Spurs get a first round bye? Did they change the championship format to a best of three?

Did the Spurs somehow get and advantage from the strike? As I recall the Spurs starting two guard of the time went to Greece to play when he was told their wasn't going to be a season in the NBA. Disadvantage Spurs.

I have never seen an *asterik* next to the 1982 Superbowl Champion, Washington Redskins. This was only a 9 game seasons! Why isn't their an '*' next to John Riggins 166 yard MVP performance.

Wait, while we're at it, because Phil Jackson says so.. lets '*' next to the '95 Atlanta Braves... and of course the '94 MLB Champions.. umm... wait, there wasn't one. Baseball played over 100 games and didn't have a champion. There is no '*', the results simply say 'Not Held'.

I wonder how Wilt would feel if we '*' his 1967 Champion 76'ers for not having an 82 game season..

How about the 8 championships in a row for the Boston Celtics? They weren't 82 game seasons.

Why don't we just '*' every championship pre-1976. Since the league wasn't complete, the ABA had the best players in the country. Dr. J, Moses Malone, George Gervin, & many more.

Dallas & Phoenix had a chance this year... a great chance, to win it all. Dallas lost, Phoenix lost... the only 'Championship calibre' team left is the Spurs. (The Piston's have yet to show they are in it to win it this year - they should have knocked the Cav's out in five, I'm not sure they have the heart of the champion.) Advantage Spurs.

what about larry brown, won it in 2004 when the pistons dominated the lakers who had beaten the spurs earlier...dont be so cocky about this, one championship was a strike year, and another rasheed doesnt take two steps and the pistons are up and heading home for the series win.
excuses you say....
"2000 - 2002 Injuries to: Derek Anderson (starting guard), David Robinson (starting center), or Tim Duncan (MVP)" and
"2004 - Big Shot Rob, normally known for his clutch shooting, goes 1-20 from 3pt range against his former Lakers. Thanks Horry! (Oh yeah, and Derek Fisher hits a big shot, after time expired.. good job shot clock operator)" and
"2006 - Manu’s foolish foul on Dirk, Finleys non-technical technical (the NBA rescinded the technical foul that tied the game that Dallas would win in OT)."

hope to see a pistons spurs final....

I don't know how many, but I think PJ Carlesimo will be getting his own team again after this Championship.

How big of an advantage do the Spurs have, having 2 head coaches!

With all the Spurs success over the last 15 years, I wonder how many asst. coaches and office staff have gone on to bigger and better things based on the Spurs and Timmy?

Jazz don't stand a chance. Carlos Boozer could have been working on his second ring already if he stayed in Cleveland.

Pistons couldn't beat the Spurs win Big Ben.

Cleveland is just a Spurs spin-off - former Spurs assistant coach as their head coach... former Spurs player & executive now in their front office in Danny Ferry.

I'm not sure I'm ready to start planning a parade on the Riverwalk just yet. The Spurs and Jazz split the season series, I know their young and haven't proven themselves in the playoffs yet. But I have a feeling the referees will do their best to make this one close.

Least we forget the theres a good chance Detriot will be in the finals. Detriot has a hard nosed tough defensive team too. I know I have written off the Cavs already but I'm not sure King James can carry the team all the way to the finals alone.

Heres hoping it's an interesting series, if for no reason than the NBA needs something to rebound from the manufactured media fiasco of the Spurs vs. Suns series.

I actually overheard someone talking about how dirty the Spurs are, the boring and soft Spurs from last year are now the toughest dirtiest team in the league. If you actually bought into Amare and the media's bullshit then you need to stop watching ESPN and start actually watching a few games!
