WHAT?
That was my initial impression after reading Kerr’s prediction of the Suns/Spurs series.
Why would a San Antonio resident, who’s earned a championship with this same team, turn his back on his teammates and actually claim that the opponent would win?
Now it becomes clear. The former University of Arizona star, who owns a small piece of the suns, is to become the president & general manager.
His former teammate, at both Cleveland & San Antonio, Danny Ferry has done very well with the Cavs. We will see how he fairs in the ever improving Western Conference. I have a feeling the only way the Suns will be seeing a championship anytime soon, is if the general managers decide to play H-O-R-S-E for it.
OK I know this isn’t real basketball news but I couldn’t stop laughing!
Heres my favorite!

NEW YORK - New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas was fined $50,000 by the NBA on Tuesday for questioning the treatment Stephon Marbury is getting from referees.
Thomas criticized the officials after the Knicks’ 103-94 loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday night.
“I see a lot of other players drive to the basket and get fouled and go to the foul line, and I don’t understand what he’s done to receive the type of treatment he’s getting and the lack of respect he is getting from the officials,” Thomas said after Saturday’s game.
“Moving forward, I would hope that he would be treated just like other star players are treated when they get fouled. … There is only so much a player can really take before his game is seriously affected.”
Thomas, operating under Madison Square Garden’s strict media policies, is usually careful with his words. But he may have been frustrated after the Knicks’ second tough loss in two nights. New York lost 105-103 in Dallas on Friday night, with Marbury having a shot blocked on a drive to the basket in the closing seconds.
“I see a lot of players get calls that he doesn’t get, and I see a lot of contact out on the perimeter that happens to other players around the league and they go to the foul line and he doesn’t,” Thomas said.
“I don’t understand that. I would hope that by me saying this that maybe this would change for him one day, because this year has been difficult for him and myself and all of us watching the way the non-calls happen for him.”
The Knicks are among the league leaders in free throws attempted per game. Marbury attempts 5.2 per game.
Okay so I’m in a ‘Where are they now?’ mood.
I had to wonder. Latrell Sprewell didn’t resign with the Timberwolves because, he claimed, it wasn’t enough money to feed his family. With not a lot of research time involved (I typed in: latrellsprewell.com) I found out just what Sprewell is doing now.
I had a flashback to Golden State. Don Nelson (then GSW coach, 2nd year w/ Sprewell) talked about the (revolutionary then) neon lights under Sprewell’s car. Looks like that may have always been Spree’s real love.
Wow, thank god for NBA League Pass and NBA Broadband. I’m traveling in the wonderful but cold state of Alaska and missed most of my beloved Spurs game againest the Sonics. NBA League Pass and NBA Broadband has the game live and archives the games for 48 hours! This rocks!
I have my issues with the NBA but they finally got something right!

Gilbert Arenas posted on his NBA.com Blog that he made $10 bets with fans. The NBA has since removed the incriminating material.
Gilbert said, “I owe somebody 10 bucks. I bet a fan if I had a chance I would make the last shot.”
The Hibachi missed the shot, costing the Wizards the game, and him $10.
